What your data is worth.
Plain answers to the questions business owners ask about licensing their company's data.
What is business data licensing?
Business data licensing is when a company gives a buyer permission to use a copy of its historical operational records — usually emails, documents, messages and other work history — in exchange for payment. You typically keep ownership. Goldcache helps businesses understand that market from their side of the table.
How much is my company's historical data worth?
There is no simple price-per-gigabyte. Buyers look at how many people worked there, which systems they used and how many years of history exist. Goldcache helps you get a sense of buyer interest before you decide whether to go further.
Can I license data from a company that shut down?
Yes. Closing a company does not erase the work you built. If the historical operational data still exists in old systems, it can still have value to AI data buyers. Goldcache helps you explore that without pretending the years were easy.
Who buys business data, and why?
AI companies and specialized data buyers license real-world operational records to train systems on how work happens. They care about the pattern of the work, not your product secret. Goldcache is not the buyer — we help you navigate the ones who are.
How is business data de-identified?
It depends on the data buyer. Typically names, emails, phones and other personal details are removed or replaced while keeping the story of how work got done. Goldcache does not de-identify data. We help you ask the buyer to show you, before you agree.
Is data licensing non-dilutive capital?
Yes. Licensing historical operational data can bring in cash without selling equity or running a new raise. You are not taking on a new investor. You are getting paid for work the business already did.
